Besalú. Magnificent medieval centre. Monastery of Sant Pere, which only conserves the temple. It was originally constructed in 977, although the current building dates from the 12th C. The medieval bridge, with angular shape, has been restored and is the most emblematic monument in the village. Church of Sant Vicenç, with a basilical plan, Romanesque style and Gothic window on the façade. Cúria Reial: 14th C. building, used for the adminstration of justice. The house of the Cornellà family, with its porched gallery, is a significant example of Romanesque civil architecture. The porches on Tallaferro street. El Call, or the Jewish quarter, with a Mikwà or medieval public baths, where lithuirgical ablutions were performed. Porched Town Square. Collegiate church of Santa María: of which only the apses remain; it was the cathedral during the ephimerous bishopric of Besalú (1018-1020). Church of Sant Julià (hospital): heavily sculpted façade (17th C.)
